ABOUT OUR  MUSIC PROGRAM

Our Music Director, Kenneth Griffith, directs the music program for Sunday services, and any special services. A talented and dedicated music staff supports the program, as does an enthusiastic adult choir that rehearses and sings weekly during worship services.

A variety of professional vocalists and instrumentalists, in addition to talented student musicians, also offer music on various Sundays throughout the year. Our sanctuary is used for recitals and concerts by outside groups.

Music Program

There are many ways to enjoy and participate in our music program, from listening and singing as part of the congregation to joining one of the many groups that can be found here.

Among these are a monthly Community Drumming Circle, a weekly Adult Choir and, for special occasions, a Handbell Choir, a House Band, a Multigenerational Choir and the Threshold Singers, offering healing and comfort to those facing illness or death.

The mix of music in services here is eclectic, ranging from Gregorian chant to recent compositions, some of them by UU composers. It is not unusual to hear a Duke Ellington song in the same service as a Bach Praeludium for organ, or a Palestrina motet on the same day as a traditional Lutheran hymn and an African song.

There are many choices for participation on a regular or an occasional basis, so please speak to Director of Music, Kenneth Griffith, if you are interested.
